Education Is a Right, Not a Privilege: How inVision U Unlocks Opportunities for Talent

Useful Information

Access to quality higher education remains one of Kazakhstan’s most important challenges. For many years, the opportunity to receive a world-class education depended less on a student’s talent and potential than on their socio-economic background and place of residence. For students from regional areas, the cost of relocation, accommodation, and education often placed university out of reach, leaving many talented young people without access to opportunities.

inVision U was founded to change this reality by making high-quality education accessible. The university provides fully funded scholarships for students from all regions of Kazakhstan and across Central Asia.

EDUCATIONAL MODEL

inVision U follows a fundamentally different educational model built around Problem-Based Learning (PBL). In this internationally recognized approach, real-world challenges become the starting point of the learning process.

From the first day of study, students work onpractical social, technological, managerial, and media-related challenges.Academic knowledge becomes a tool for solving real problems rather than an end in itself. This approach develops analytical thinking, adaptability, collaboration, and independent decision-making.

LEARNING FORMAT

The primary learning formats at inVision U are seminars, workshops, and project sessions. Traditional lecture-based instruction is not the main method of teaching.

Students work in small teams where each participant contributes to a shared outcome. Faculty members act as facilitators: they define challenges, create learning environments, guide discussions, and provide feedback. Instead of memorizing information, students produce tangible outcomes such as analytical findings, evidence-based hypotheses, solution concepts, and working prototypes.

FOUNDATION PROGRAM: AN EQUAL START

The Foundation Program is a preparatory year designed to help students transition successfully into university life. Itspurpose is to establish a common academic foundation regardless of school background, geographic location, or previous educational experience.

During the year, students strengthen their academic English, mathematics, IT fundamentals, critical thinking, academic writing, and argumentation skills. The program also gives students time to explore different bachelor’s pathways before making a final specialization choice. Upon completion of Foundation, students progress to undergraduate degree programs.

DEGREE AND POST-GRADUATION SUPPORT

Following graduation, students continue to receive mentorship and may apply for startup funding if their projects are selected. This support system is designed to encourage graduates to contribute to Kazakhstan’s development and strengthen their local communities.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

Educational inequality is not only a social challenge; it is also an economic loss for the country. Every unrealized talent represents an innovation that never happened, a solution that was never discovered, and a professional contribution that society never received.

inVision U is built on the belief that talent is distributed equally across the country. The university’s mission is not simply to select the most privileged students but to create opportunities for talented young people regardless of where they were born.

Education is a right. This principle guides everything inVision U does.
