Useful Information

The world is rapidly changing. Robotics, artificial intelligence, smart devices, digital fabrication, immersive technologies, and automation are no longer the future - they're already part of everyday life. But the real question today is: who will build these technologies?

Modern industry needs a new generation of specialists -people who don't just understand technology, but turn ideas into real products: from concept and digital model to a working device, interactive system, or physical prototype.

That's why inVision U created Creative Engineering a next-generation interdisciplinary engineering program that brings together engineering thinking, robotics, digital fabrication, artificial intelligence, design, computational technologies, and creative innovation.

This is a program for those who don't just want to study technology — they want to create it.

What Is Creative Engineering — and Why It's Not Just a "Technical Department"

Creative Engineering brings together engineering thinking, design sensibility, and hands-on making — three things that almost never coexist in traditional education.

The program is built around one core idea: a real engineer today isn't someone who calculates load factors or reads blueprints. It's someone who takes a problem, develops a solution, and brings it to life physically — from sketch to working device. That's what four years here are about.

Students work with electronics, programming, CAD/CAM systems, microcontrollers, IoT, and digital fabrication. Running alongside: 2D/3D design studios, engineering graphics, and prototyping. Not in isolation — each course builds on the last.

The program is led by Mariya Li — a graduate of the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL, UK), UK Alumni Award laureate in Culture & Creativity, and a specialist working at the intersection of engineering, design, art, and creative technologies. Her professional experience and interdisciplinary approach shaped the philosophy of a program where students learn not only to understand technology and design, but to build real engineering solutions.

Who Is This Program For?

Those drawn to technology, engineering, and building real products.

This program is for anyone who wants to do more than understand how technologies work — they want to be part of creating them: designing, modeling, assembling, and testing real objects, devices, and engineering solutions.

Those who want to work with smart devices and physical computing.

Students explore the fundamentals of electronics, microcontrollers, Internet of Things (IoT), and smart systems. The focus is practical: from working with sensors and hardware to building interactive systems and physical prototypes.

Those interested in digital fabrication and engineering design.

If you're curious about how an idea becomes a physical object, this program will take you through CAD/CAM technologies, CNC manufacturing, digital fabrication, 3D printing, and Digital Twins — from digital modeling all the way to a finished product.

Those interested in interactive and immersive technologies.

The program introduces immersive and interactive technologies as part of the modern engineering landscape explored through the lens of digital experiences and interdisciplinary design, deepening understanding of how technology interacts with people and environments.

Those who want to build their own products and projects.

Creative Engineering is especially suited for those considering launching their own tech solutions, product innovations, or startups. The program includes electives in innovation, entrepreneurship, business incubation, and acceleration alongside interdisciplinary project formats where ideas can develop into prototypes or MVPs.

What Students Study?

Creative Engineering combines engineering fundamentals, digital design, modern technologies, and hands-on project work. Students move progressively from foundational knowledge to building their own engineering solutions and prototypes.

Engineering Foundation.

Mathematics, physics, programming, engineering graphics, and mechanics - the bedrock of engineering thinking and technical systems understanding.

Digital Design & Engineering.

CAD/CAM technologies, digital modeling, and engineering design, students learn to translate ideas into production-ready engineering models.

Electronics & Smart Systems Electronics.

Sensors, microcontrollers, IoT, and embedded systems, hands-on exposure to smart technologies and physical computing.

Digital Fabrication & Prototyping.

3D printing, CNC technologies, digital fabrication, and rapid prototyping, turning digital models into real, physical products.

Creative Engineering Studios.

The heart of the program, studio-based learning where students work on projects from first ideas and digital modeling through to functional prototypes and a final-year project (MVP).

Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

Design thinking, project management, innovation, and entrepreneurship, helping students develop their own ideas and understand how to turn technology into real-world products.

Career Outcomes

Graduates enter one of the broadest career landscapes of any program at inVision U. An engineer who thinks like a designer and a designer who builds like an engineer is in demand wherever physical products are created.

Roles:

Creative Engineer, Product Designer, Industrial Designer, Prototyping Engineer, Digital Fabrication Specialist, CAD/CAM Designer, IoT Engineer, Robotics Technician, Automation Engineer, UX Engineer, R&D Engineering Assistant, Design Technologist.

Sectors:

Robotics & Automation, Digital Fabrication & 3D Printing, Consumer Electronics, Smart Devices, Automotive Industry, Smart Cities, Startups & Innovation Labs.

Creative Engineering — For Those Who Build, Not Wait

Creative Engineering at inVision U was built for people who aren't satisfied just understanding things, they need to build them. Five years of fully-funded study, from the Foundation year through a state-accredited degree, structured as one continuous journey: from a first project to a finished product made alongside people from different disciplines.

This program doesn't just produce engineers, it produces solution creators: people who can turn ideas into real products by bringing together technology, engineering thinking, design, and manufacturing.
